BAHRAIN, June 27 (World Daily Times) — Bahrain said Iranian drones entered its territory, and Gulf officials and foreign ministries across the region quickly denounced the attack as a threat to Bahrain’s security and regional stability.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry called the strike a “flagrant threat” to the kingdom’s security. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council, called the attack “treacherous” and said it would undermine peace efforts.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the Iranian strikes were “a dangerous undermining of endeavors for peace and stability” and a threat to regional security. Saudi Arabia and Qatar said the attack violated Bahrain’s sovereignty and international law, while the United Arab Emirates said it remained committed to supporting Bahrain’s safety and stability.

In a separate statement, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said on state television that it had targeted several locations “of the U.S. terrorist army in the region.”

A joint statement from Gulf foreign ministers meeting in Bahrain also condemned Iranian assaults on Bahrain and Kuwait, called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, and said Iran was fully accountable.
